Just a little something called LIFE!

So recent conversations with friends have evoked many thoughts about life and happiness. We have talked about soul mates and if they really exist, love, children and even sex. As I mentioned before for some strange and odd reason once I entered the "mid 20's stage" I have managed to question everything in my life, especially my career. A moment of self-reflection is key and at times necessary to see what areas of your life you can possibly improve. But what I am having a hard time doing is balancing self-reflection with over thinking. I think failing in life is what many people fear, but really at the end of the day when you are with your loved ones who unconditionally love you then who really gives a shit?? Yet these are the exact same people who drive us and push us everyday and who we fear letting down.

I know personally I push myself everyday for my family and friends. I try to be the best that I can be in every aspect of my life. I try to be the loving daughter, the cool sister and the awesome friend. When really they already know these aspects of me. They love me regardless of my failures in life. And at the end of the day what matters is not money or cars, but really the relationships that I have established throughout my lifetime. In the future I think my greatest success will be my family and friends. My hard work hopefully will be reflected in my humble and respectful children and my honest friends.
So maybe I just need to learn to relax a bit and not drive myself crazy with my career fears and hope that things will figure themselves out. Take one step at a time. Because really at the end of the day your paycheck should not be the sole reflection of life's true accomplishments and happiness. Yes, work and creativity is needed, but I need to remind myself it is not the only source of self-fulfilment.

Here is an amazing passage that got me thinking:

They have achieved success
who have lived well,
laughed often, and loved much;

who have enjoyed the trust of
pure men and women,

the respect of intelligent people and
the love of little children;

who have filled their niche and accomplished their tasks;

who have left the world better than they found it
whether by an improved poppy,
a perfect poem or a rescued soul;

who have never lacked appreciation of Earth's beauty
or failed to express it;

who have always looked for the best in others and
given them the best they had;

whose lives were an inspiration;
whose memory a benediction.
