The weekend of course was short, but sweet. I landed on Friday night and spent a night in Brooklyn and we went to this very cute bar called "Lokal." It happens to be so that one of the co-owners was Turkish and they also served Turkish beer Efes.I really want Demi to see this place next time. It is totally her style too.

Demi landed the next morning. We met up super early near our hotel on the East side and off we were to check out schools.Btw, our so-called hotel was a complete shit hole with bunk beds and shared bathrooms (aka it was pretty much a hostel, which they neglected to specify on the ad). But thank goodness it was just for one night.
We checked out the culinary school that Demi is thinking of attending soon- ICE.The people at the Admissions office were super nice and we even went on a tour and talked to the Financial Aid office. I unfort. was unable to talk to the Admissions Office at Baruch College or NYU because they were closed :((
We then headed over to Brooklyn with Ania H.(which btw was so nice to see since it was almost 2 years since I last saw her), Alexis and enjoyed a fun party at the Kwasnik's.The costumes were great, drinks were flowing and convos were never ending.

The next day Demi and I woke up and headed over to Times Square and Central Park. Now, with all honesty I know NYC has so much going on, but really Central Park is my FAVORITE place in Manhattan. There is something so magical and calming about the place. Fall just changes the whole scenery of the park-one tree may have up to three different colored leaves. To me it is perhaps one of the most romantic spots and trust me it really is. I have been to Paris, Barcelona, Venice and all the other romantic spots u can think of, but for some reason Central Park takes my breath away every single time. And of course makes me want to have babies ASAP because of all the daddy's pushing their kids and strolling along...so adorable! =)

After all this walking Demi and I got a little emotional talking about life. Life after college has hit us hard, confusion hit us even harder. We ultimately really want to have a fun career, but more importantly a happy family. I was telling her about the conversation I had with my father just last week. I was telling my dad my fears about life in general, about meeting "the one" and about my career that I seem to be lacking. In the end he told me that his greatest accomplishment in life is not his job, money, home or car. Rather it is his 4 children and wife.I think that hit Demi and I a little hard and the convo got deep quickly. And it also made me realize even more how intelligent and how truly amazing my father really is.Maybe Demi and I over think life a bit. Scare ourselves from really moving and taking risks in life.
Demi and I are so different in so many ways, yet we both know how to bring down each others defenses and bear our soul. She gets me and I get her. We managed to live with each other for almost 2 years and not get into one SINGLE fight. We see each other eye to eye and we hold nothing back. And this is exactly why she is one of my best friends and ALWAYS will be no matter where we end up in life and who we end up with. NYC was def. an eye opening experience for us and I think in a way has left us still confused. We have a lot to think about in the next few months. And in all honestly I thought Demi's reaction would be a bit different. I really thought she would just simply FALL IN LOVE with the city, but she didn't.That is OK...she only really was there for just a full day so it is understandable.
